Solos, duos & trios
Participating in a solo, duo, or trio is a special privilege at the studio, rather than an automatic right. These showcase opportunities are carefully selected by the faculty based on a dancer's proven experience, technical readiness, strong work ethic, and an outstanding commitment to their regular classes and practice. Because these routines require a high level of independence and dedication, we look for dancers who consistently lead by example and are ready to put in the extra focus needed to excel on stage.
how it works
Solo opportunities provide dancers with a structured path to refine their technique and artistry through dedicated one-on-one mentorship. The process begins in early September with a foundational intensive consisting of four one-hour sessions, designed to establish choreography and focus on technical goals. Following this initial push, the commitment continues throughout the season with one 30-minute session per month from September through May. This consistent monthly session ensures that the dancer maintains their momentum, polishes their performance quality, and receives the individual feedback necessary to prepare for the stage.
Solos attend all designated competitions alongside our company groups. Because soloists represent the studio on a larger scale, the expectations for attendance, sportsmanship, and dedication are identical to those required for group company routines. Success in a solo relies on the same commitment to excellence and professional conduct that we expect from our company dancers.
Please note that submission of an application does not guarantee selection, as the number of solo, duo, and trio roles is limited based on studio scheduling and instructor availability.
